Notre Dame Prep found their leader in underclassman Ayla Keefe, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Keefe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Ava Pautz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Desert Mountain's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They suffered a rough 45-21 loss at the hands of Cactus Shadows. Desert Mountain has not had much luck with Cactus Shadows recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Notre Dame Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.67 points. As for Desert Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything came up roses for Notre Dame Prep against Desert Mountain in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-24 victory. With Notre Dame Prep ahead 47-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
