There's no place like home for the Ironton Fighting Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down Dawson-Bryant 64-47 on Friday. Given Ironton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Hornets are ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ironton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bailey Thacker, who scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Schreck, who scored 19 points.
Ironton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Dawson-Bryant, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ironton will take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairland will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Dawson-Bryant, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th.
