Sutherland had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They took a 22-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Loup. If Sutherland were expecting payback for the 14-56 loss against South Loup the last time the teams met, then they were shortchanged. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Sutherland off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving South Loup a 1-0 record.
Next week, Sutherland take on Paxton at 7:30 PM. As for South Loup, they will face of against Hemingford.
