After losing to the Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles the last time they met, the Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Nebo Crossing Academy walked away with a 61-52 victory over Pinnacle Classical Academy on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Nebo Crossing Academy.
Nebo Crossing Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Grubbs, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Grubbs is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tanner McKinney, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Pinnacle Classical Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evan Bridges. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bridges has scored all season. Cody Humphries was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Nebo Crossing Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Nebo Crossing Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in Christian Family Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Community Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Community Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
