The Peabody Warhorses entered their tilt with the Bunkie Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Peabody simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Bunkie 73-17 at home. Fans of Peabody have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Peabody's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Mathews, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mathews has scored at least 25% of Peabody's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Jones, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Peabody's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bunkie, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Peabody will be playing at home against Winnfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bunkie, they will head out on the road to face off against Breaux Bridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
