St. James suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 51-9 loss at the hands of Sumter. St. James has struggled against Sumter recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Carolina Forest put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 59-12 victory over Socastee on the road. With Carolina Forest ahead 24-4 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Madison Hoffman was her usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Miracle McLean was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
St. James' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Carolina Forest, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
St. James came up short against Carolina Forest in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 27-23. Can St. James avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
