Coalinga is a perfect 10-0 against Mendota since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Horned Toads will welcome the Aztecs at 4:00 p.m. Coalinga knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mendota likes a good challenge.
Coalinga came out on top against Avenal on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Horned Toads blew past the Buccaneers 12-1. With that victory, the Horned Toads brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Cabella Redding made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Coalinga was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mendota's offense. They came up short against Dos Palos on Tuesday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Aztecs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Coalinga is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Mendota, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-1 record this season.
Everything went Coalinga's way against Mendota when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Coalinga made off with a 13-3 victory. Will the Horned Toads repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
