After three games on the road, Ocean View is heading back home. They will take on The Westminster Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Ocean View fell victim to Laguna Beach's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 64-0 loss at the hands of the Breakers. While losing is never fun, Ocean View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 820th, while Laguna Beach is ranked 176th).
Meanwhile, Westminster had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 47-13 win over Godinez Fundamental on the road. The result was nothing new for Westminster, who have now won six matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Westminster's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Benny Burns ii, who threw for 126 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. Ezekiel Cedillo was another key contributor, gaining 104 total yards and two touchdowns.
Westminster's victory bumped their season record to 6-2 while Ocean View's defeat dropped theirs to 4-4.
Ocean View was taken down by Westminster 35-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Ocean View, Alex Solano (who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
