Gunnison entered their tilt with North Fork on Saturday with two consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the North Fork Miners by a score of  55-46. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  55-44  back in December of 2024.

Gunnison got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Sienna Gomez out in front who  dropped  a double-double on 17  points and 13  boards. Gomez's afternoon made it three games in a row in which  she has scored at least ten points.  Kylee McDougal was another key player,  putting up 14 points in addition to five  assists and five  blocks.
 Gunnison  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 19  offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Fork only pulled down ten  offensive boards.
 Despite the  loss, North Fork saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Meri Hollembeak  went 9 for 19  on her way to 22  points along with six  rebounds and six  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Hollembeak has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alyssa Dawes, who  posted nine points.
Gunnison has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record  this season. As for North Fork, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 7-6.
 Gunnison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  54-17  victory against Crested Butte on the 28th. North Fork has also  already played their next contest,  a  51-43  loss against Meeker on the 31st.
