The Lake Travis Cavaliers waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 75-58 victory over Akins. Given Lake Travis' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Akins is ranked 669th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jayden Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Mathis, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Lake Travis' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Akins, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.
Lake Travis will be playing in front of their home fans against Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Akins, they will head out on the road to face off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
