Laurens Academy extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. Everything went their way against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots as they made off with an 11-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Wardlaw Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5. Surprisingly, this marked the seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

For Wardlaw Academy's part, Brody Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Johnson has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Coughenour, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Coming up, Wardlaw Academy will take on Richard Winn Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Laurens Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Patriots' contest: after the Patriots face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Laurens Academy again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
