Carter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles as they made off with an 18-8 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-7 last Tuesday.

Jeremiah Smith was a standout: he scored four runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-5. He has become a key player for Carter: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Sheared Brooks, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Carter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Carter's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Wilmer-Hutchins, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
