The River View Raiders won the last time they faced the Sherman Tide, and things went their way on Thursday too. River View rang in the new year with a 59-52 victory over Sherman.
River View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Danielson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Danielson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Justice, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
River View's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
River View will head out on the road to face off against Montcalm at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Montcalm is ranked 81st, while River View is ranked 67th). As for Sherman, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. Midland Trail has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 420 points over their last six matches.
