The Franklin Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Pennington Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
Franklin pushed their score all the way to 76 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 77-76 to Life Center Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Saturday (63), Franklin still had to take the loss.
Pennington posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They blew past South Hunterdon 61-41. Given Pennington's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while South Hunterdon is ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Pennington, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Franklin came up short against Pennington in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 49-40. Can Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
