On Friday, the Coeur d'Alene Vikings faced the Lake City Timberwolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coeur d'Alene took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake City. Coeur d'Alene was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lake City apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Coeur d'Alene's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teagan Colvin, who scored ten points. Maddie Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Coeur d'Alene's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Lake City, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.
Coeur d'Alene will be playing in front of their home fans against Lewiston at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewiston is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Lake City, they will head out on the road to take on Post Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Post Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
