The Edgewood Mustangs and the Shakamak Lakers will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Edgewood slipped by Sullivan 39-38. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Edgewood has scored all year.
Edgewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Huttenlocker, who scored eight points. Carl Norris was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though North Vermillion scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, Shakamak still came out on top. Shakamak took their match against North Vermillion 63-55. The victory was just what Shakamak needed coming off of a 88-43 loss in their prior game.
Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Shakamak, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Edgewood strolled past Shakamak when the teams last played back in December of 2016 by a score of 57-40. Will Edgewood repeat their success, or does Shakamak have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
