Manchester and Macon County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Manchester Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Macon County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.
Last Saturday, Manchester didn't have quite enough to beat Mt. Zion and fell 72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (63), the Blue Devils still had to take the loss.

Manchester's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaedyn Terry, who posted 20 points and seven rebounds, and Dre Mcghee, who scored 20 points and eight boards. The contest was Terry's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jhiere Terry, who earned eight points and seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Manchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Macon County strolled past Central with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 80-61. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Manchester better focus on containing Lavoris Smith and Joshua Fulks as the pair were huge in Macon County's win. Smith went 6-for-15 to rack up 20 points and seven boards, while Fulks put up 13 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Desi Mckenzie, who had nine points and five boards.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Macon County, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's match: Manchester has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Macon County, though, as they've only made 29.9% of their three-pointers this season. Given Manchester's sizable advantage in that area, Macon County will need to find a way to close that gap.
Manchester strolled past Macon County in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 69-53. Does Manchester have another victory up their sleeve, or will Macon County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
