The Barren County Trojans were the 68-34 winner over the Adair County Indians when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Barren County took a hard 61-47 fall against Adair County on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Barren County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Adair County is ranked 30th).
Adair County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Cochran out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Loy, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists.
Barren County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Adair County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barren County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bowling Green at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th. Bowling Green will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Barren County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Adair County, they will head out on the road to face off against Warren Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Adair County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,857 points over their last 25 contests.
