After flying high against the Passaic Valley Hornets last Tuesday, the West Milford Highlanders came back down to earth. West Milford fell 47-37 to the Lancers on Thursday. West Milford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Monday.
Despite the loss, West Milford still got an impressive performance from Avery Vacca, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Adison Arciniega, who scored seven points along with two steals.
West Milford's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. As for Lakeland Regional, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Milford will square off against the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeland Regional, they will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
