Lincoln entered their tilt with Bay on Thursday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They rang in the new year with a 55-43 win over the Bay Tornadoes. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Breanah Peace, who posted eight points in addition to 13 boards and three blocks. Peace is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyana Hunt, who put up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Lincoln's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Lincoln will square off against Rutherford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rutherford will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bay, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arnold at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
