The Jones Longhorns will head out on the road to square off against the Luther Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Jones suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 77-56 loss at the hands of Casady. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Jones came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Casady is ranked 527th).
After soaring to a 20-point victory in their last game, Luther came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Community Christian by a score of 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Luther has suffered yet this season.
Jones' record is now 8-4. Luther's record is now 3-7.
Things could have been worse for Jones, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 75-61 loss to Luther in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Jones avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
