James Island won the last time they faced Hilton Head Island and things went their way on Friday too. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 31-8 margin over the Seahawks. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Seahawks are ranked 94th).

Among those leading the charge was Sam Crumpton, who picked up 132 receiving yards and one TD. Another big playmaker for James Island was James Hurteau, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for James Island, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Hurteau, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

James Island has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 16 points this season. As for Hilton Head Island, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James Island is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Goose Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hilton Head Island, they will venture away from home to challenge Aiken at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
