After only two points in their last game, the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls made sure to put some points up on the board against the Cypress Lake Panthers on Friday. LaBelle escaped with a win against Cypress Lake by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. The victory was familiar territory for LaBelle who now have four in a row.
Cypress Lake's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bri Madore, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. Kylie Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
LaBelle's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Cypress Lake, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. LaBelle will be home for the holidays to greet Moore Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
