Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Christian Warriors vs. Archimedean

The Westminster Christian Warriors will face off against Archimedean at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Westminster Christian's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Archimedean has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Last Wednesday, Westminster Christian blew past BridgePrep Village Green, posting a 77-23 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Westminster Christian had a senior duo take command as Julian Crespo went 6 of 9 en route to 22 points and Cooper Whitby went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Crespo is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Dwight Whipple, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Archimedean played a tough contest last Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Sunset 78-48. Archimedean was down 65-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Westminster Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Archimedean, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything came up roses for Westminster Christian against Archimedean in their previous matchup back in November of 2014, as the squad secured an 83-31 win.
