High Point Christian Academy got a good showing from HUNTER KELLEY, who struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). KELLEY has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Wesleyan Christian Academy entered their tilt with Greensboro Day School on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bengals with a sharp 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Elijah Martin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wesleyan Christian Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Nick Papciak was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since April 1st. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hasty, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Wesleyan Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
High Point Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
High Point Christian Academy came up short against Wesleyan Christian Academy when the teams last played on April 3rd, falling 3-0. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
