In what's become a running theme this season, the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 72-46 margin over Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda. The victory was familiar territory for Russell-Tyler-Ruthton who now have four in a row.
Despite the loss, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda saw an underclassman step up: Bryce Nielsen scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nielsen has scored all season. Sam Goedtke was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 635 points over their last nine games. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they will be playing at home against Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
