The Kecoughtan Warriors pushed their score all the way to 68 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Churchland. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (55), Kecoughtan still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Kecoughtan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marcel Pace. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Pace continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Suber, who scored ten points.
Kecoughtan has fallen quite a ways from their 20-4 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Churchland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Kecoughtan will be playing at home against Denbigh at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Denbigh is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Churchland and Cape Henry Collegiate will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
