Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri County Northeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Heikes, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jackson Belt, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Tri County Northeast's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Homer, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri County Northeast will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winnebago on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Winnebago is ranked 216th, while Tri County Northeast is ranked 194th). As for Homer, they will head out on the road to challenge Creighton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Creighton has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
