Eldorado had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-11 to make it eight. They came up short against the Miles Bulldogs, falling 21-9. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 17-1.
Miley Doran led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a hit, which was her first of the season. Payten White was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Miles, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-17 record. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th (when they won 17-1).
On Miles' side, Kambry Schniers made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Schniers has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Miles got a massive performance out of Brynlee Mund, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Mund a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Syler, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Eldorado will head out on the road to square off against Colorado at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Miles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
