Baseball Recap: Northside Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Northside Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Badin Rams by a score of 6-2.

Merric Hunt looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on JD Howard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Turner Gross, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Northside Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Badin struck out 14 times.

Northside Christian's record is now 12-8. As for Badin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian will challenge Neumann at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Badin, they will head out to challenge Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jesuit's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Badin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
