Baseball Recap: Emmaus Wins Going Away Against Muhlenberg

The Emmaus Hornets got the win against the Muhlenberg Muhls on Sunday by a conclusive 8-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

On the hitting side, Aaron Fleetwood was excellent, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew McGeehan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Emmaus' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Muhlenberg, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Emmaus will face off against Louis E. Dieruff at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Muhlenberg, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 win against Conrad Weiser on the 28th.
