Brackenridge is a perfect 10-0 against Highlands since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will host the Owls at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brackenridge has three straight wins, Highlands has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Brackenridge came out on top against Jefferson on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Ethan Polendo spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brackenridge let Joseph Perez and Jordan Monroy run wild. Perez went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Monroy got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Monroy is becoming a predictor of Brackenridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Medrano, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Highlands lost 13-2 to Seguin on Thursday.
Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Brackenridge, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brackenridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Highlands struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brackenridge got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Highlands by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Owls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
