The West St. John Rams were the 44-40 winner over the St. Katharine Drexel Yellowjackets when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. West St. John took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets on Friday.
St. Katharine Drexel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caitlin Smith, who scored six points along with 16 rebounds and eight blocks. Smith is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Jaquel Angrum was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
West St. John's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for St. Katharine Drexel, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West St. John will challenge the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Louisiana (Riverside Academy is ranked 319th, while the Rams are ranked 340th). St. Katharine Drexel will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th.
