The Poolesville Falcons had to endure a three-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Quince Orchard by a score of 39-29 on Monday. The victory was just what Poolesville needed coming off of a 60-25 defeat in their prior contest.
Among those leading the charge was Alex Sosna, who scored six points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Breanna Salovich, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Quince Orchard lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Evelyn Steele, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Steele is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Rappaport, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Poolesville's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1. As for Quince Orchard, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poolesville will challenge Wheaton at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Quince Orchard, they will head out on the road to face off against Springbrook at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
