The North Penn Knights will head out on the road to face off against Carver High School of Engineering & Science at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Penn is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for North Penn, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-45 loss to Council Rock South. While losing is never fun, North Penn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while Council Rock South is ranked 122nd).
Meanwhile, Carver High School of Engineering & Science waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Central by a score of 63-50.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samir Roberts-mouzon out in front who scored nine points along with three steals. Roberts-mouzon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Brown, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
North Penn has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
North Penn was able to grind out a solid win over Carver High School of Engineering & Science in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 60-50. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Carver High School of Engineering & Science's Nile Mosby, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for North Penn to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
