The Ayersville Pilots will challenge the Paulding Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ayersville is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Ayersville's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Defiance. The Pilots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Kendra Waldron was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aeriel Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Daniella Coble, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Ayersville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Defiance only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Paulding unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 18-10 to Parkway. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Paulding has suffered since May 8, 2024.
Civil Pumphrey led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Bakle, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Paulding's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Ayersville, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ayersville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Paulding struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ayersville beat Paulding 8-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Pilots repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
