Redwood is 0-3 against American Canyon since May of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Giants will face off against the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Redwood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Redwood had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Terra Linda on Wednesday. The Giants put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-1 win. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Lily Cox made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Redwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Linda only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, American Canyon was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to Vintage. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Crushers: they've now lost nine in a row.
Jayden De Los Santos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Redwood pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for American Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10-1.
American Canyon's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Redwood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for American Canyon, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Redwood keep running through batters, or will the Wolves buck the trend?
Redwood suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to American Canyon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Giants avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
