Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Dulles Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jaylen Koovakada and Jayden Redhead

Fort Bend Dulles lost against Fort Bend Hightower back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Fort Bend Dulles Vikings might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes an easy 78-55 victory. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1082nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 243rd).

Fort Bend Dulles' loss came despite strong showings from Jayden Redhead and Jaylen Koovakada. Redhead posted 23 points, while Koovakada put up 19 points. Redhead's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Fort Bend Dulles' record is now 3-14. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Fort Bend Dulles will head out on the road to face off against Ridge Point at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridge Point knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Fort Bend Dulles likes a good challenge. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fort Bend Clements at 7:00 p.m. Fort Bend Hightower has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
