While South Fort Myers's win against East Lee County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolfpack sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Jaguars on Friday. The Wolfpack have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Jerry Cruz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Cruz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Cruz wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen Kircher, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Crisstophec Morillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

South Fort Myers' record is now 8-13. As for East Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, South Fort Myers will take on Imagine School at North Port at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Lee County, they will challenge Lehigh at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
