Having just played yesterday, the Eustace Bulldogs will jump right back in to play the Slocum Mustangs at 9:20 a.m. on Friday. Eustace is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
On Thursday, Eustace was the victim of a tough 61-41 defeat at the hands of Normangee.
Meanwhile, Slocum's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 71-47 defeat at the hands of Normangee.
Despite the loss, Slocum saw an underclassman step up: Carter Sbrusch scored 27 points. The match was Sbrusch's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Creede Kessel, who scored six points.
Eustace's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Slocum, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Eustace came up short against Slocum in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 55-47. Can Eustace avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
