West Side is on a five-game streak of home losses, Aberdeen a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The West Side Pirates will take on the Aberdeen Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
West Side suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Malad, falling 71-22. West Side has not had much luck with Malad recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, West Side saw an underclassman step up: Miley Cundick scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen was beaten by Grace 63-16 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Aberdeen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Grace is ranked 19th).
West Side has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Aberdeen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
