Softball Recap: Geneva Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Geneva's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Orangewood Christian Rams get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Bella Ortiz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ortiz was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Bastian, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Briana Rodammer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Geneva has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Orangewood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneva will host Master's Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Orangewood Christian, they will welcome Lyman at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
