Westmoreland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Portland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Westmoreland Eagles' way against the Portland Panthers on Monday as the Westmoreland Eagles made off with a 13-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Westmoreland let Ellery Perdue and Mylea Johnson run wild. Perdue went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Johnson went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Perdue has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Walker, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Westmoreland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory got Westmoreland back to even at 2-2. As for Portland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Westmoreland will host Macon County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portland, they will head out on the road to challenge Harpeth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
