The Paulding County Patriots were the 54-50 winner over the Douglas County Tigers when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Paulding County fell to Douglas County 51-46.
Paulding County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexus Wilson, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Hope Johnson who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Wilson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oddyssey Murray, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Charla Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Paulding County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Douglas County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paulding County and New Manchester will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. New Manchester will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Paulding County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Douglas County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas County is facing East Paulding at the right time seeing as East Paulding is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
