Dunlap is 8-2 against Canton since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Little Giants at 4:15 p.m. Dunlap is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Dunlap made easy work of Geneseo and carried off a 13-1 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Landon Gray looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Davis Weeks, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Gavin Gibbs was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Canton came up short against Illinois Valley Central on Thursday, falling 15-5.
Colin Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Canton is 2-1 when Johnson posts three or more RBI, but 6-10 otherwise.
Dunlap has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dunlap has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Canton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
