The Springport Spartans stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Quincy at home to the tune of 63-31. Given Springport's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Quincy is ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Springport was led to victory by Chloey Speer and Maddux Locke. Speer scored 18 points along with three steals, while Locke scored 18 points along with nine assists and seven steals. That's the first time this season that Speer scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brenna Crittenden, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Springport pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Quincy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Springport will be playing at home against Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bronson and Springport are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Quincy, they will head out on the road to take on Jonesville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
