Even though the Southeast Alamance Stallions scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Chatham Central Bears still came out on top. Chatham Central walked away with a 65-55 win over Southeast Alamance. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chatham Central.
Chatham Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reid Albright, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Albright has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Gilliland, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Southeast Alamance saw an underclassman step up: Jerry Sims scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Sims is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Brandon Mcadoo was another key contributor, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists.
Chatham Central's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Southeast Alamance, they bumped their record down to 6-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Chatham Central will take on Bartlett Yancey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Alamance, they will be playing at home against Northwood at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
