Softball Recap: Bandys' Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Bandys came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the West Caldwell Warriors as they made off with an 11-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Trojans have posted against the Warriors since April 26, 2022.

Piper Barrymore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

On the hitting side, Bandys got a massive performance out of Jessie Sipe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Sipe has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Paige Barrymore, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Bandys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Caldwell only posted a batting average of .125.

Bandys pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for West Caldwell, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bandys will venture away from home to square off against Bunker Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Caldwell, they will head out on the road to face off against East Burke at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
