On Thursday, the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans faced the Somerset Academy Losee Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cimarron-Memorial took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Somerset Academy Losee. Cimarron-Memorial's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Geremiah Rone, who scored 19 points. Rone continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gerald Patterson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Cimarron-Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Somerset Academy Losee, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cheyenne the next time they take the court. Cimarron-Memorial will head out to face Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while Somerset Academy Losee will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
