The Allendale-Fairfax Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 53-44 to Manning. While losing is never fun, Allendale-Fairfax can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Manning is ranked 105th).
Manning's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tavion Carter, who scored seven points along with 22 rebounds and eight blocks. Carter is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Ceasar, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Allendale-Fairfax bumped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Manning, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Allendale-Fairfax will be playing at home against Bridges Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridges Prep and Allendale-Fairfax are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Manning, they will head out on the road to face off against Dillon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dillon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
